"Tú y Yo En Español"  A Program for Children Ages 15 Months to 3 Years, and Their Caregivers

Young children are curious, eager to learn, engaged, and they most certainly absorb the sounds and musical aspects of language. Enrichment classes consist of a great deal of songs, movement, stories, puppet dialogues, visual material, hands-on material, and kinesthetic activities.

Children will go through a long period of listening and comprehension of the Spanish language before they utter any words. Developmentally appropriate activities foster verbal communication when the child is ready.

Children will learn expressions and vocabulary in a meaningful context:

  • greetings and goodbyes
  • expressing moods and feelings (such as happy, sad, angry, hungry, cold, hot)
  • recognizing numbers 0 to 10,
  • using simple expressions about the weather, colors, parts of the body, days of the week, clothes, food, opposites, and animals and their physical description
  • following commands
  • practicing vowel sounds.

Storytelling such asThe Itsy Bitsy Spider will engage and capture children’s imagination in a constant interactive way. Due to the short attention span in this age group, Senora Lupe will lead children and care givers in physical activities using one-word commands.
