The Spanish Immersion Summer Camp (SISC) program is designed to teach children a second language in a fun, encouraging, stimulating, and enjoyable environment, so they will feel confident, motivated and proud. Our goal is to enrich your children's language acquisition experience, and to encourage a lifelong love of learning about the languages, people and cultures around them. Our student/teacher ratio 5:1 reinforces our philosophy of small classes.
Now in its 13th year, SISC continues to incorporate elements of the Reggio Emilia approach and the Waldorf method in our pedagogy, in addition to the well known Montessori and TPRS methods. Students "learn by doing" using their five senses: sight, sound, touch, taste, and smell.
We are delighted to include soccer practice again this year. Also back by popular demand, our director, Lupe Marks, a certified Zumba instructor, will incorporate Latin/Jazz dance classes into the curriculum.
At the end of each two-weeks session a final presentation/performance takes place at 9:00 a.m. Participants from each class may perform a play, dance and/or sing a song. Hence, parents must bring their children 20 minutes earlier. We strongly encourage parents, relatives and friends attendance. 3
