"Los Pasquences Jugetones": A Program For Children Ages 5 and 6

Children at this age are moving into the world. They are learning how the world works around them. Most of the time they play happily with other children and enjoy stories and physical games. They love to try out various adult roles by developing favorite games like “superman” or “mommy and daddy.” Through these pretend games, children at this age continue to work out what is real and what is fantasy, and have a chance to develop their personalities more fully. This class places heavy emphasis on stimulating and engaging children’s imaginations through role playing via stories such as Goldilocks and the Three Bears.

In every session, students will enjoy different stories selected to emphasize a main theme.  Children will be immersed in Spanish based on an interdisciplinary approach through songs, pretend games, and movement activities, all of which will coordinate and refine fundamental motor skills. Children will practice the sounds of vowels, consonants, and combinations of letters to build reading fundamentals, and focus on speaking in complete sentences.
