"Los Aztecas Traviesos": A Program for Children Ages 7 and 8

Children at this age are moving toward abstract thinking and are developing reasoning skills. Their learning shifts from observation and experiences to learning through language and logic. Classes at this level will consist of learning about the differences and similarities between Latin America and the United States. Through a multidisciplinary approach, students will learn about Chile, Bolivia, Perú, the Dominican Republic, and Mexico. They will begin their journey discovering each country’s traditions, history, geography, culture and food. Every four weeks students will explore one country in depth with a focus on vocabulary enrichment, thinking skills, and higher language development. During this class, children will be reading in Spanish with greater fluency.
